Disabled Travels

Well this is very hit or miss, I’ve no idea what I am doing but here goes.

I hope to use this blogg to pass on my experiences in travelling around as a relatively new wheelchair user. Although diagnosed many years ago it is only the last couple of years that have forced me into using a wheelchair or mobility scooter. I am more fortunate than many in that I can still get upright and walk very short distances with my stick.

What I am learning about human nature is amazing.

There are so many good people out there still and when they offer help I am very torn as to how to say thanks but no thanks, my independence is so important to me and I am worried that if I accept all help offered it will weaken my resolve to be independent. When I say no thanks I always try and explain why, I hope they understand.

Then of course there are the total idiots and we meet them everyday, there are so many who are so self centred they are oblivious to the trials and difficulties of others.

Anyway let’s see how we get on.
